EAGAN, Minn. (KMSP) - Crews are putting the finishing touches on the Vikings’ new home in Eagan, and on Monday they unveiled one of the most fascinating parts of the building: the new TCO Studios.
The facility is a new, state-of-the-art media center complete with a television studio and radio broadcast booth that's set to put Minnesota on the cutting edge of pro sports entertainment.
The interactive studios will bring a behind-the-scenes look at the game with network quality video capabilities and plenty of new toys, like the set’s 86-inch interactive touchscreen.
“Dallas and Chicago both have good sized studios that are dedicated to TV and digital, but you’re seeing a new trend,” Vikings Vice President of Content and Production Bryan Harper said. “I would say that we’re one of the first.”
TCO Studios also offers a 170 seat auditorium to hold a studio crowd.
“I think it just gives it a big time feel,” Harper said of the studio audience capability. “You’re going to feel them in the room and you’re going to hear them cheering.”
The entire 1,700-plus square foot space is filled with creative additions to reach an audience both in person and on personal devices.
“You have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat and whatever is going to come next,” Harper said. “I think we’ll be well prepared for that.”
FOX 9 is also working alongside the Vikings for live programming production from the new space as well entering the 2018 season.
