Provost Studio Reimagines Customer Experience for Retail Roll-out

Chapel Hill Tire Retail Store - Fordham Blvd Location
Provost Studio completed the Chapel Hill Tire - Fordham Blvd location in 2019 after being contacted to reimagine customer experience and store interior. Provost Studio enhanced the customer experience while telling the story of the family-owned business through environmental branding and graphic design.
Chapel Hill Tire:
The biggest design challenge faced at Chapel Hill Tire was the need for the flagship location to be efficient, hospitable and provide everyday conveniences that would gain customer trust and business. Through approachable environmental graphic design Provost Studio was able to execute a new iconic and bold brand that expressed the rich history and story of the family-owned Chapel Hill Tire business.
Provost Studio was engaged by Chapel Hill Tire to create a new customer experience and enhance the store interior for its new retail roll-out. The Fordham Boulevard location in Chapel Hill is 5,000 sq ft and stands as Chapel Hill Tire’s flagship location which opened in the Fall of 2019. The roll-out initiative will continue into 2020 with the addition of 2 new locations, currently under construction, and 1-2 additional locations that are in the planning stages. The new prototype takes inspiration from the hospitality industry with multiple lounge inspired atmospheres and dramatic environmental graphics and accent lighting. One of the main focuses was providing customer convenience and comfort while waiting for their car to be serviced. The new flagship store features a lounge area that feels very much like a living room, coffee bar, cafe tables, overstuffed leather club chairs and custom designed bar-height work surfaces. Provost Studio provided a range of professional design services including interior design, environmental branding and environmental graphic design. The project program areas included the main service desk area (custom-designed and branded transaction counter); customer waiting area (coffee bar, cafe seating area, lounge area with display monitor, bar height counter with built-in iPads and laptop power stations); staff break area and large conference/meeting room.
